With the Café-Ristorante Castelletto on Schwechat's main square, Derenko has created a stunning sanctuary for this successful Italian family business. The central vision of the design concept was to create a space that invites guests to immediately immerse themselves in the feeling of "Dolce far niente." Established style elements of the brand were integrated and evolved with new, modern components to create a harmonious overall aesthetic.
The interior design impresses with a fine balance between continuity and innovation. Striking wooden wall paneling and Castelletto’s signature large, circular light rings form the architectural framework of the restaurant. Exposed brick walls provide an authentic and cozy atmosphere, creating a rustic contrast to the modern lighting elements. The heart of the guest area is the masterfully staged pizza oven, centrally positioned to spatially emphasize the promise of Italian craftsmanship and tradition.
With this project, Derenko has created a place that combines comfort and style. Through the deliberate combination of warm materials, focused lighting, and traditional Italian references, an ambiance was born that invites guests to linger and enjoy. Castelletto Schwechat impressively demonstrates how gastronomy interior architecture can strengthen an existing concept while simultaneously creating a new, inspiring retreat in an urban setting.
