Together with Felix Sommer, Derenko realized an interior concept that seamlessly combines the long-standing tradition of this family-run business with contemporary design. Since 1881, the house in Auersthal has stood for hospitality and regional cuisine. Today, it is run by Felix Sommer in the fourth generation.

The new interior reflects these core values: premium wooden flooring and comfortable upholstered benches create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The historic coffered wooden ceiling was boldly reinterpreted in a vibrant coral red, becoming a striking visual highlight. Comfortable ochre chairs, soft rugs, and accent lighting emphasize the modern spirit of hospitality.

A special design feature is the use of translucent textile circles framed in wood, printed with historical family motifs. These serve as elegant room dividers, adding depth and meaning. The “Schatulle” – a modern wooden frame as a reimagined interpretation of the traditional “Stammtisch” – preserves the history of the house while offering a space to showcase family generations.

The result is a dining space that harmoniously blends regional identity, tradition, and contemporary lifestyle – a design gem for Auersthal, created by Derenko.
