Vienna’s historical Flakturm, which is home to the Aqua Terra Zoo, has been expanded by an eleven-story extension. As part of the conversion, the existing restaurant 360° OCEAN SKY on the top floor was also expanded to a seating capacity of a good 200 people, including a partially covered outdoor area with 40 seats.

At the new venue, the name says it all: 360° OCEAN SKY affords an unobstructed 360° panoramic view at over 50 meters up, and is thus undoubtedly one of the highest rooftop locations in downtown Vienna. And it is not just the view that is unique, but also the design. The interior deftly bridges the gap between the daytime and nighttime scene, ensuring that the spot appeals equally to zoo visitors as well as to Viennese locals and tourists. The color and lighting concept is deliberately subdued and restrained, bringing the outdoor atmosphere inside. Exquisite dark woods, bronze-plated mirrors and earthy brown tones meet rich rosé and ocean blue. The harmonious design concept is rounded out by the use of driftwood elements. The visual highlight is the installation featuring the shoal of fish consisting of 199 specially produced, shimmering metallic fish.
