The design concept for Hotel The Weekend is entirely dedicated to the emotional world of the weekend. Derenko’s goal for the interior architecture was to translate the feelings of relaxation, joy, and gathering with friends and family into a spatial experience. At the center of the planning were three essential pillars: a deep connection to nature, a conscious approach to the factor of time, and the characteristic lifestyle of a free weekend in the city.
In the execution, these elements are consistently reflected in the choice of materials. Stone, various types of wood, and real plants blur the lines between the urban exterior and the cozy interior. Graphical details such as floral wallpapers in the rooms and a natural wayfinding system emphasize this organic approach. Particularly striking are the green walls within the hotel, which make nature directly tangible and convey a subtle sense of the passage of time through their natural growth.
The furnishings at Hotel The Weekend exude a lightheartedness that immediately gives guests a feeling of comfort and domesticity. Derenko has created a stylish retreat that offers protection and tranquility, integrating that relaxed weekend feeling directly into the pulsing rhythm of the city.
