Johanns – Brand design for cuisine with character

“Johanns” stands for honest cuisine with a twist, genuine hospitality, and a story that continues – now in its third generation. For this traditional inn, we developed a holistic brand identity that makes attitude, heritage, and craftsmanship visible. The goal was to preserve the house’s authenticity while translating it into a contemporary and clear brand presence.

The new handwritten logo expresses personality and warmth – a visual symbol for the people behind the name. It is complemented by an illustration of the three Josefs, honoring the family roots and bringing their shared history into the present. The result is a visual identity that makes the connection between tradition and modernity tangible.

In addition to the visual design, we also developed the brand voice, claim, and overall communication concept. “Cuisine with Character” captures the essence of the house: honest, down-to-earth cooking shaped by passion and personality. The new corporate identity combines natural colors, clear typography, and a warm, approachable tone – reduced yet expressive.

The result is a branding concept that goes beyond visuals. It tells a story – of origin, attitude, and evolution. Today, Das Johanns presents itself as an inn with soul, welcoming its guests with openness and showing that good design emerges where authenticity meets style.
